Located in Asturias, this regenerative retreat reimagines hospitality as a catalyst for environmental restoration and human wellbeing. Conceived as a refuge immersed in nature, the project seeks to create a place where guests reconnect with the landscape while experiencing calm, joy and a sense of belonging.

Journey through the different zones and gardens of the masterplan.

The masterplan is structured around a sequence of gardens that organize the distribution of the buildings and shape the experience of moving through the site. Each garden creates a distinct atmosphere, spaces for gathering, contemplation, wellness and connection, allowing the landscape itself to guide the journey. Buildings are lightly embedded in the steep terrain and connected through paths, terraces and outdoor rooms, encouraging guests to explore the site slowly and engage with nature along the way.

The design is guided by a holistic biophilic approach that operates across all scales, from the surrounding landscape to the interiors. Ecological restoration, native planting and biodiverse thematic gardens form the foundation of the outdoor environment, while architecture opens to views, daylight and fresh air. Inside, natural materials, vegetation, textures and multisensory elements create calm, restorative interiors that support wellbeing and deepen the relationship between people and nature.

Beyond sustainability, the project follows the principles of the International Living Future Institute’s Living Building Challenge, using its imperatives as a design framework. This includes regenerative water and energy strategies, carbon-conscious construction, responsible material sourcing, and meaningful engagement with the local ecology and community.

Wellness spaces and social areas inspired in the surrounding nature, guests rooms and tree-houses that give a sense of calm and refuge, regenerative gastronomy supported by an on-site farm, and nature-based experiences form part of a holistic environment rooted in the rhythms of the landscape. Rather than simply minimizing harm, the ambition is to create a place that gives back more than it takes, supporting biodiversity, celebrating Asturian culture, and demonstrating how hospitality can contribute to a regenerative relationship between people and the natural world.
