Project Overview
Garden House is a compact home for a couple and their child, designed to immerse daily life in the sensory richness of a tropical garden. The flexible layout allows part of the house to become a self-contained apartment for future use or rental.
Design Approach
Every room maintains contact with vegetation, fostering calm and wellbeing. Shaded outdoor living areas and natural ventilation reduce cooling loads while enhancing comfort.
Materials & Construction
Built with locally made clay bricks and timber, the house balances thermal stability, sustainability, and tactile warmth.
Spatial Experience
The plan opens towards interior gardens and framed views of lush vegetation, creating a sense of openness and constant dialogue with nature.
Landscape Integration
Edible plants, native species, and permeable surfaces create microclimates that support biodiversity and enrich sensory experience.
